This week-end Dick Pierson took the NASCAR Monte Carlo for some track action at Bremerton Raceway. What a great moment to see the Monte back racing at a track after 20 years!
According to Dick, it still has the Daytona gearing in the 9" rear end and it could have gone up to 160+ mph if the Bremerton straightaway was longer. Engine, transmission and brakes perfomed well througout the session. It also likes to turn left, so the setup is still as it used to be for the big NASCAR ovals that the car was build for. SCCA approved it for racing and handed out the logbook for the Monte. Track proven and tech inspected, our Monte Carlo is now ready to start its second career as a vintage racer.
