Dick Brooks busy 1976 season
Three drivers, namely Dick Brooks, Dick Hutcherson and Marcel Mignot, shared the ride in the Truxmore Torino at Le Mans. Among these, Dick Brooks had the busiest schedule of the year, racing almost a full Winston Cup program for Junie Donlavey.
Junie had at least 3 Torinos that year, one for Brooks, one in Le Mans and one for Buck Baker. Brooks and Donlavey's busiest month was without a doubt June 1976, where they raced at the World 600 in Charlotte (7th place), then on to Le Mans two weeks later (retired after 9 hours into the race). Then it was back to the USA for the CAM2 Motor Oil 400 in Michigan (6th place) just one week after Le Mans! The efforts of the 1969 Rookie of the Year paid off, as Brooks finished at a respectable 10th place overall in the Winston Cup.
